He said a weak, low pressure trough would provide sunny conditions with winds turning westerly over the next few days. This will see the coastal strip remain mostly dry.
And, in some great news, the weekend looks set to be excellent, with Sunday the sunniest and warmest in the forecast.
“Thursday looks to be virtually dry the entire day although there will be a shower or storm event over the hinterland area that could, possibly, reach the coast at some stage,” he said.
“This rainfall is only likely later in the day or early evening. We expect the maximum temperature to be around 25 degrees.
“Friday looks to be a similar kind of a day but only warmer – 27 degrees – and a much less chance of rain.”
Saturday should reach 29 degrees and, while quite a nice day, there is a chance of a shower or storm in the late afternoon or evening. But it is likely to be very brief.
Rainfall is more likely on the northern tablelands area on Saturday.
“Sunday looks to be the sunniest and warmest day reaching a top of around 31 degrees,” Mr Dutschke said.
“There is a very small chance of a shower later on in the day.
“We are then looking at the weather cooling down a bit as we lead into next week.”
You can expect the weekend to be quite breezy, although nothing significant, the meteorologist added.
Monday’s maximum should climb to 26 or 27 degrees and will remain dry.
The sea conditions are generally pretty small although southerly breezes expected early next week could increase the swell.
