The Discovery Early Education and Care Centre welcomed its first children mid-October and parents have been full of praise for the beautiful learning spaces and outdoor environment, not to mention the smooth transition into care.
It caters for 84 children per day with four rooms - a nursery, a toddler room, a pre-school room and a transition room for ages four to five.
All meals are provided for children, with long hours of 6.30am to 6.30pm another bonus for parents.
New jobs will also be created. When at full capacity, the centre will have 20 to 25 employees.
Director and operator, Kerrie Rowlandson, said the vision for the centre is to create a warm community hub where families can connect.
“The response has been very positive. Some families have already increased their days after only a few sessions,” she said.
To mark the achievement, Lewis Land Group (LLG) chief executive officer Chris Calvert presented the centre with flowers, strawberries and some mini tools to kick-start the gardening activities.
“The centre is a terrific asset for the community and features the right mix of modern, state-of-the-art facilities and learning spaces,” Mr Calvert said.
The centre is located in Sovereign Hills’ Barton Ridge Precinct on Menzies Street and is taking enrolments.
