Organised by local health, domestic violence and community services, the walk provides an opportunity for the people of the Port Macquarie-Hastings region to gather together and support the right to be safe in homes and shared community places.
Mid North Coast Local Health District sexual assault counsellor Kelly Eyeington said it was a fantastic turnout and the issue of zero tolerance to domestic violence is something that is very close to the community’s heart.
Ms Eyeington said increasingly young people are being exposed to violence through social media, including Facebook.
