This is to conduct its scheduled out of water dry dock ‘slipping’ inspection and programmed maintenance.
During this period the Settlement Point Ferry will remain operational.
Council is asking commuters to be aware of the extra traffic using the Settlement Point Ferry during this period and to allow extra travel time.
“Once every four years, under Maritime regulations and compliance for commercial vessel licensing, the ferry has to be inspected on a dry dock,” council director Jeffery Sharp said.
“Preventative maintenance works are planned to coincide with this dry docking to ensure the ferry continues to serve motorists well into the future.”
Normal school bus services will operate from Settlement Point to cater for children that normally use the Hibbard Ferry.
