POLICE from Mid North Coast Local Area Command conducted several random body searches with the aid of a drug dog last week.

On Friday, August 19 at around 8pm a car was stopped on Ocean Drive in Port Macquarie. The subsequent search located about 30 grams of cannabis, a number of LSD tablets and an amount of amphetamines.
A 27-year-old Port Macquarie man and a 24-year-old Kendall man will appear in Port Macquarie local court at a later date.
On Saturday, August 20 there were 12 searches conducted in Port Macquarie. Police said there were three detections made at the Port Macquarie City Bowling Club.
A 25-year-old male from Wauchope was found with 0.2 grams of ice, a 34-year-old Port Macquarie female was found with cannabis and a 35-year-old Port Macquarie male was found with cannabis.
All three will receive a summons to appear in court at a later date.
In a separate incident, a 35-year-old Port Macquarie male refused to be searched by police and attempted to walk away. He was subsequently charged with hindering police. Police allege he disposed of a prohibited drug in the toilet to avoid detection by the drug dog.
The police operation took place on Friday night and Saturday night.
