Celebrity chef Matt Wilkinson will host diners at The Stunned Mullet on the Friday and Saturday nights, along with a series of cooking demonstrations on the Sunday.
Port Macquarie-Hastings mayor Peter Besseling said Golinski was a hatted chef and restaurant owner obsessed with growing, sourcing and presenting the best tasting produce about.
“Matt will be joined by Nicholas, an internationally renowned chef who uses ingredients that he has grown or foraged himself, or sourced from local producers,” he said.
With a focus on all things local, Golinski will be Tastings on Hastings Producer’s Ambassador.
“Matt has a passion for using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients. He is known for his food columns, blogs, speaking roles and appearances on television.”
The ambassador will host a free Industry Development Day for producers on July 25, at Newman Senior Technical College.
“The development day will bring local food producers together to create a stronger focus on locally sourced food. We’re looking forward to Matt sharing with us his ideas of making farm to plate a reality,” he said.
Event sponsors and supporters of Tastings on Hastings met at The Big Oyster to officially begin the event’s count down.
This year’s theme Fire Water Harvest will be tangled into a number of events happening throughout the busy three days.
Now in it’s 14th year, Tastings on Hastings will feature a sustainable table morning at the community gardens, a harvest lunch at Town Green and the Tastings Ignites evening festival.
Sunday’s main event will see hundreds of local food and beverages available to sample.
