However I have seen the statistics on crime reduction before. The trouble with compiling statistics relevant to the situation in Wauchope is the fact that people tend to stop reporting incidents when they know that, at the police station in Wauchope, there will be nobody to talk to.
I am writing this letter because, three times in the last few hours whilst legally crossing the pedestrian crossings in High Street I had "drivers" pass by me whilst I was on the crossing.
Wouldn't such pathetic driving be less likely to occur if the driver knew that the local Bobby might also happen to be walking down High Street at that particular time?
You'd have to talk hard to convince me otherwise. A police presence, not just an allocation of officers who have to commute between other stations, would end this dangerous situation.
