Built in 1933 to provide dairy products to the local community, the site has undergone a number of transformations during the years.
"Some of the changes include the addition of the chapel and the old school house which completed the site as it currently stands," said the owners Tony and Jean Farmer.
The Old Butter Factory is set on five acres of waterfront property.
Other features to the property sale include manager's flat capable of accommodating two families, camping rights, log cabin - which is currently rented - public hall and licenced restaurant from 5am to midnight most nights, three large wood-fired pizza ovens, commercial kitchen, dove cotes, Wishing Well on island, and commercial jetty.
The buildings have been renovated over the years but since 2011 when the Farmers took over the operation, and with the help of the local darts team, the buildings have been lovingly restored to its former glory.
"This is truly a regrettable sale of our retirement dream, due to family circumstances," the couple said.
"The Old Butter Factory is now run as a wedding and party venue and we book just 12 weddings a year.
"There is certainly the potential for more weddings or you can enjoy an easy retirement."
Mr and Mrs Farmer said The Old Butter Factory prided itself on creating a fun, friendly, family atmosphere.
"We have stepped away from the idea that weddings have to cost you a fortune," the couple said.
