In 12 weeks, our local men and women in blue responded to 6000 incidents, of those more than 1000 were for major crime.
Aside from traffic infringements, at the top of the list were assault-related incidents.
Even more disturbing is the fact that 38 per cent of those assaults have been fuelled by alcohol.
