Koala Preservation Society Australia president Bob Sharpham said the donation would go to the plantation project.
A North Shore property will be used for conservation and plantation purposes to harvest leaf for hospitalised koalas.
The donation will be used in the plantation preparation phase.
"We don't want the public trees in Port Macquarie stripped bare," Mr Sharpham said.
"It's important we are able to have something that will keep us going for the future and not rely just on the street trees."
Representatives from Mitsubishi Australia presented a $3000 cheque and toured the koala hospital on Wednesday.
Mitsubishi Australia encourages and supports projects and activities which contribute positively to the community.
Mitsubishi Australia research analyst Rie Nakamura said the koala was such an iconic Australian animal.
"We are very happy to support this organisation," she said.
Mitsubishi Australia deputy managing director Nobu Hirota said the koala adoption program was unique.
