Watts fought Anja Stridsman in the 60 kilogram final in the event on the Gold Coast on Saturday night.
A confident Watts said she felt in control for most of the fight which showed in the unanimous decision result.
Despite the win there’s no time for Watts to rest and at time of print yesterday the Laurieton boxer was waiting on confirmation of challenge bouts said to be held in Melbourne in a fortnights time.
She could face either her finals opponent Stridsman or Skye Nicolson who she met in the semi finals.
Watts was due to return to the Hastings but with the short turn around with the next bout in Melbourne she will instead head back to Institute of Sport to continue her training.
“It is a bit of a short turn around but I’ve just had my 13th fight in 10 weeks so what’s one more?,” she said.
“I went to Europe for seven weeks where I competed in two tournaments and that sort of fell between the state and national titles.”
Watts said the hectic schedule has only been made possible due to the support she has been given.
“Anyone would be lieing if they said they weren’t tired,” she said.
“But when you go through such a hectic period like this it’s really important to make sure you get your recovery right.
“And I’ve had fantastic support from the Institute of Sport with making sure I’m eating right to getting massages for all the aches and pains.
“I’m really appreciative of it.”
