In 41 years in the cattle game, Wauchope Stock and Estate Agent's John O'Briens says he's never seen the prices like those at last week's cattle market in Wauchope.

And, he predicts prices to soar for some time yet.
"It was absolutely one of those days that you dream about.
"It was mind boggling," he said.
"The export market is absolutely unbelievable at the moment.
"I can only go on one of the major exporters told me on Wednseday night (August 26), but the picture looks great for quite some time.
"It's all very positive."
Record prices were recorded for cows and heifers, with the some heifers reaching $1,248 a head. Heavy cows secured nearly $1,500.
The stock and station agent said producers were in shock when they heard about their prices.
"They could not believe what their cattle had returned," he said.
"Some of them had to take a minute to sit down and take it in."
