Tuesday morning death
But the identity of the man whose body was found on Town Beach this morning remains a mystery.
The police spokesman said the man was possibly between 65 and 75 years of age and was wearing black shorts and a black New Balance jumper.
He urged Port Macquarie residents to take the time to check on loved ones and neighbours in their area.
“If you suspect they have been missing for some time please get in contact with us and let us know," the spokesman said.
