PORT Macquarie police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man whose body was found on Town Beach on Tuesday morning.

The body was found by a man walking along the beach shortly before 6am.
There have been no reports of anyone missing and police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Port Macquarie Police Station on 6583 0199.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 60s or 70s, with grey receding hair. He is wearing dark shorts, a dark sloppy joe and white joggers.
At this stage police said they are not treating the man's death as suspicious.
His body has been taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
