Port Macquarie’s Fish Co-op, which has enjoyed a 70 year history on the Hastings waterfront, will cease trading.
As a part of the Hastings Regional Crown Reserve- Precinct A Plan of Management, adopted in December 2014, the area known as the Kooloonbung Creek Harbour is earmarked for redevelopment as a part of a broader initiative to reinvigorate the Port Macquarie waterfront.
The future long-term vision for this precinct includes the fisherman’s wharf and Plaza carpark site, requiring significant investment from stakeholders.
The community has made a definite show of support to our local fishos that a waterfront without the co-op is not an option and will campaign to keep the blue shed
