A man is due to appear in court on Saturday after another man was allegedly doused with fuel during an argument at Port Macquarie.

Police were called to the home in Church Street about 1am Saturday, responding to reports that a man had allegedly been assaulted with a car jack and petrol poured over him.
A 51-year-old man was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for treatment while a 46-year-old man – alleged to be the victim’s partner – was arrested nearby.
The younger man was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with:
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm (two counts),
- Contravene an apprehended violence order, and,
- Intimidation.
He was refused bail and will appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on Saturday.
