Touch should resume this week at Tuffins Lane as long as it's dry enough to mow. Again you could mow and bale it after the rain and sunshine we have been getting.
The local competition has been extended to the last full week of March to make allowance for the washed out matches. Full details of the extended draw will be available shortly.
On the representative scene the Junior State Cup commences on Friday, February 20 and runs through Saturday and Sunday.
Friday has been added to accommodate the increasing number of team nominations, which is currently up over the 330 mark. NSW Touch does a sensational job looking after the estimated 5000 players which is obviously a real logistical challenge.
Port Macquarie Junior Touch will be represented in all divisions and have been training since last November in an attempt to be both competitive and give themselves a chance of picking up a title.
More details on our local challenge will be published as we get closer to the 20th. That's it for this week and like everyone else on the eastern seaboard, I'm just about to kick the mower in the guts and continue the fight with a lawn that seems to be on steroids.
