The seafaring Santa will be distributing lollies to children - and some adults - he meets along the way.
His boating adventure will start from Lady Nelson Wharf at 4.30pm on Wednesday aboard Marine Rescue's Rescue 30.
He will then travel up river to visit the North Shore, the canals and all the homes along the way up to the Hibbard ferry.
Marine Rescue Port Macquarie has helped Santa with this task for more than 20 years and is proud to be aquatice sleigh for a few hours.
Once his trip around the canals is done, Santa will be returned to his sleigh to hurry back to the North Pole to start his journey delivering presents around the world.
In some places he arrives by camel, in others by train, horse and cart, helicopter, fire engine or vintage car. But, no matter how he arrives, he always brings a smile to the faces of those he meets.
So, if you live along the canals or the Hastings River, be sure to give him a wave and bring the children out to greet him.
