TWO people have fronted court in relation to Friday morning's alleged murder of a man near Wauchope.
Trudy Giles, also known as Trudy Gilson, appeared before Port Macquarie Local Court on Saturday charged with the alleged murder of a 43-year-old man.
Police executed a search warrant at a Park Street Port Macquarie address where they arrested 38-year-old Giles/Gilson and allegedly seized cannabis plants and other items.
The woman was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where she was charged with murder. She appeared in court and was refused bail.
Police allege the accused and the victim knew each other and met about 4.30am near King Creek on Friday.
Police will allege the woman stabbed the man in the chest, before he got into his vehicle and drove off.
Officers from the Mid North Coast Local Area Command were called to the scene about one kilometre east of Wauchope just after 7am on Friday.
They found a man injured inside a smouldering Ford Falcon sedan on the stretch of Oxley Highway between King Creek Road and the entrance to Wauchope.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene but he died on the way to Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
Residents at the northern end of Narran River Road had reported hearing the sound of screeching before seeing black smoke billowing from the accident scene.
Following police investigations, a second search warrant was executed at a Pappinbarra address. During the search police allegedly seized a knife, clothing and about 50 cannabis plants.
At about 10am Saturday, police arrested a 43-year-old man in Murray Street, Port Macquarie.
The Pappinbarra man was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with accessory after the fact to murder and cultivate cannabis.
He appeared in Port Macquarie Local Court on Sunday and was refused bail.
