A $3000 prize pool is up for grabs when the winners are announced at Rydges on October 31.
People who make a nomination will also go into a draw to win a $500 Harvey Norman voucher.
Award categories include: sports person of the year; junior sports person of the year (under 12); junior sports person of the year (under 18); junior team; senior team; sports person with a physical or intellectual disability; sporting volunteer of the year.
Former winner Ryley Batt said it was a huge honour to be crowned Sports Person of the Year in 2012.
"To be the best, I believe you need the best equipment and that costs a lot," he said.
"The award was a great help to my career and the awards in general are a great event."
