Nearly $5,000 flowed into donation tins and icecream buckets last Friday as Wauchope bought big on Cancer Council merchandise and fresh daffodils.
Daffodil Day volunteer Rosemary Butler made mention of the enormous contribution from volunteers and the community.
"I would like to thank everyone who participated towards the success of the day, the volunteers who manned the stalls at IGA Timbertown and Wauchope SUPA IGA," said Rosemary.
"Thank you also to Barry and Cheryl who took the merchandise and daffodils to all the businesses around town.
"Everyone has been so incredibly generous and we are just thrilled with the result."
This incredible generosity as witnessed first hand by the Gazette when one member of the public quietly paid $50 for a bunch of daffodils.
Airlie at Colonial Florist also collected any unsold daffodils, sold them at the florist and passed the $200 onto the Cancer Council.
The volunteers have made special mention of Lyn Inness who passed away from cancer just a month ago.
"Lyn had been part of our team for many years," said Rosemary.
"She has and will be missed for the contribution she has given to the community; Rest in Peace Lyn".
