The Bounty Hunters lead guitar player has been invited to pay homage to the legendary Jimi Hendrix along with a select group of rockers at The Factory in Marrickville on Friday.
The Experience Jimi Hendrix concert sold out Sydney's Enmore Theatre in the past three years with fans and critics raving about it.
"I'm a huge Hendrix fan and wanted to get in on it [the concert] so I got in touch with Empire Touring head honcho Marc Christowski," Hinds said. "He knew of my work ... and invited me to come on board.
"This is a great honour, and I am very excited about joining the creme de al creme of Australia's guitar talent on stage that night."
Rock royalty Kevin Borich, Randall Waller (Shania Twain), Steve Edmonds (Jimmy Barnes), Jak Housden (The Whitlams), Dave Leslie (Baby Animals), Peter Northcote, Joel McDonald (Frankie's House Band), James Christowski (Voodoo Sons) plus Baby Animals bass player Dario Bortolin and Mick Skelton on drums will appear on the bill with Hinds. He will perform Red House, a classic Hendrix blues tune and Voodoo Child, which he terms "a real psychedelic freak out".
At the end of the set there will be an all star jam which Hinds said will be "loud".
His Bounty Hunters bass playing wife Lyn and drummer Rob Lyons have been helping him tune up for the show.
"Lyn and Rob have been very supportive, and my wonderful Bounty Hunters band mates have been rehearsing the songs with me as I prepare for this huge event," Hinds said.
The Fender Stratocaster will be his instrument of choice for the concert but the recently acquired Sonic guitars made for David and his wife Lyn will make the trip.
"We are being interviewed by Australian Guitar Magazine about our new Bounty Hunters Rise album and our new signature Sonic guitars."
"They are the only ones in the country and we are the first artists in the world to have signature guitars built by this exclusive Japanese company."
The interview is being video taped and the DVD will feature on the front of the magazine.
