School principal Terry Muldoon said staff were yesterday afternoon made aware that 'an illicit substance was brought onto the campus by a student'.
Port Macquarie detectives investigated the incident and were told hash cookies were being dealt at the school, a police spokesman said.
Police were still investigating the matter yesterday and were expected to speak to a teenage boy and his parents last night. Police were unable to say what charges might be laid, or if the teenager studied at SCAS.
Mr Muldoon said the school takes the matter of illicit substances on campus very seriously.
"We have strict guidelines in place when dealing with students that do not adhere to these expectations," he said.
"This behaviour is contrary to the values and ethos of the school, and we have several programs in place as part of our pastoral care curriculum that explain to students the risks of drug and alcohol use."
