Many spectators at the game are tipping that these two teams will be playing in the grand final of the Hastings League at the end of the season and both teams certainly showed why on the weekend.
The Raiders had the better of the Blues in the first half, as scoring for the Raiders started with a try by the ever-reliable Tom Maguire.
The scoring continued for the home side and by half time the scoreboard read 25-6 in favour of the Raiders.
But the Blues showed their true form in the second half by out-scoring the home side five tries to one.
The Blues ended up victors, walking away with the spoils by 32-29 in a close one.
Scorers for the Raiders were Zac Bruen-Ansell, who also kicked four goals, captain-coach Bo Wilson with two tries and Tom Maguire and Ben Alaban with one each. Jared Bruen-Ansell kicked the lone field goal.
On Saturday the Raiders will be playing Harrington Hurricanes at Lake Cathie with a 2.30pm kick-off scheduled.
This will also be Ladies Day with a "fashions on the field" being conducted.
Entry is a gold coin donation with prizes for the best dressed as well as nibbles and wine for the ladies.
Proceeds will be going to the "Pink Hope" organisation raising money for the awareness of breast cancer.
Ladies are urged to put on their best outfit and come along to help this worthy cause.
