Port Macquarie is a great place to live and, as a newspaper, we have no hesitation in pointing out its beauty and heavenly qualities.
But today’s front page is a reminder that there are always bad elements in every society. It is a reminder to keep doors locked so criminals who are looking for a quick and easy theft just move along. Police are taking today’s report of a sexual attack last week as extremely serious.
Off the record conversations with people working at the heart of sexual assault and sexual abuse in this area say that it’s a much bigger problem than is being reported. In this school holiday period, and beyond, please walk with groups of friends at night and report any suspicious behaviour to our authorities.
