Members from the clubs of Wingham, Taree, Old Bar, Kempsey and Forster/Tuncurry came along to enjoy the birthday celebrations. Members danced and sang along to the music and songs of Max and Maxine who entertained throughout the day. The RSL's Reflections Bistro supplied lunch and there was the normal quiz, which of course had a birthday theme, plus lucky door prizes and lots of happy winners in the raffle.
The club provides an important and unique community service open to men and women with a structured weekly program. It provides a day out for those people who are isolated either because they are without family, or are new to the area or simply wish to have an enjoyable day out. There are 72 RSL Day Clubs in NSW with our club being the only one available to people in the Hastings/Camden Haven area. The Day Club is a joint venture between the Wauchope RSL Sub-branch and the Australian Government Department of Veterans Affairs (NSW Office). It is proudly sponsored by the Wauchope RSL Club Sub-Branch and run by volunteers. The club motto is "Making a difference to the lives of older people in our community".
