The Beach Boys sang about the Chevrolet Fleetmaster wagon which affectionately became known as a "Woodie" in subsequent years as surfers took to them as beach wagons with boards protruding from the back.
Port Central Shopping Centre is reviving the nostalgia of the "Woodie" with a 1947 model currently on display.
It is on loan from the Gowing family, owners of Pacific Coast Shopping Centres.
This particular Woodie was a late 1947 production car that failed to sell so it was fitted with a 1948 engine and sold as new in 1948.
It's restoration was completed in 1999 after nine months in the workshop.
A real blast from the past, this classic surf wagon is right at home on the Mid-North Coast, especially as we step ourselves in nostalgia with The Port Macquarie Beatles Festival this weekend.
There will be many more classic vehicles on display on both Saturday and Sunday at Westport Park.
Car clubs from across the region, Sydney and Newcastle will have their beloved autos on show from 10am on both days.
The Port Central is a proud supporter of festival and invites everyone to check out the bands in the forecourt from 11.30am until 3pm on Saturday.
The Koalas are first up, followed by Time Out at 12.45pm and New Notes at 2pm.
These bands feature up and coming musicians so get along to the forecourt to show them your support.
