Glasshouse Regional Gallery or one of the many other galleries in the Hastings have plenty to see.
* The prestigious 2013 Archibald Prize finalists’ portraits are on display at the regional gallery until January 26. There is a Children’s Trail booklet with creative exercises for the kids to do as they explore the exhibit.
* Local artist Juan Cosgayon has joined with former Port Macquarie resident Belinda Rosenbaum for the OneLine exhibition at Sunset Gallery in Murray Street. The two week exhibit brings together a dynamic collection of contemporary artworks, showcasing up-cycled and natural materials.
* Longpoint Vineyard & Art Gallery presents Origins by Yvonne Kiely and Claudia Richardson. Enjoy the cellar door offerings and browse the art at the same time at 6 Cooinda Place, Lake Cathie.
* Live entertainment will keep the party pumping for those who want to enjoy a night on the town over the festive season.
* On Monday check out Hony Tonk Woman at The Westport Club.
* Black Magic Big Band playing under the Dahlsford Village Christmas tree last night. Will be playing under the Sundowner Grasshouse Christmas tree tonight from about 6.30pm
* On Tuesday the Mick Hambly Band rock on at Finnian’s.
* Christmas Day at Port Macquarie Panthers is a buffet lunch with all the trimmings.
Reservations can be taken for 11.30am and later times depending on availability.
It’s $65 for members, $75 for guests, $26 for kids younger than 12 and $10 for toddlers.
Choose from seasonal salads, glazed chicken, leg ham, king prawns, roast meats and vegies from the carvery, seafood marinara and green Thai curry chicken with four delicious desserts to finish.
* Sails Resort by Rydges has a three-course Christmas feast for lunch or dinner for $145. Jo Thomas will entertain on piano at lunchtime and Santa will make a special visit.
* The Westport Club has lunch available in the Aqua restaurant from 11.30 until 2.30pm with entertainment by Richard Crook, and dinner from 5pm until 8.30pm.
Many other venues will have special packages so be sure to make your reservation today at the latest to avoid disappointment.
Be sure to catch the Night Rider bus if you don’t have a designated driver and you intend to drink some Christmas cheer.
Late night transportation will operate from Port Macquarie to Wauchope and Camden Haven over the Christmas New Year period, from midnight on Saturday nights through to Saturday, January 4.
The driver will determine the route based on the passengers on board and deliver people as close to home as possible.
