Ryan Doherty and Darren Hall took six wickets between them to skittle the Haven for 93 in 19.2 overs at Kendall.
Doherty’s 2-4 came from two overs, while Hall bagged 4-3 from four so their batsmen could have a great chance of taking the win. Each of the other Magpies bowlers – Dyan Lewis, Kurt Crane, Wayne Popplewell and Brett Wasson – took one.
The Magpies had six spare wickets when they passed the total.
Camden Haven didn’t have many scores to write home about. Darren Hudson’s 80 accounted for almost half the total. Blake Hudson 13 and Chris Hanlon’s 10 were the only other innings of double figures.
Ray Atkins had the best score in the reply, with 39 not out. Wayne Popplewell got 19 runs.
James Palmer, Peter Hayes and Hanlon bagged wickets. Port Panthers Pirates Buccaneers had a seven-wicket win over Wauchope RSL Red at Woods Street.
The Pirates made short work of Red’s 150. Garry Steptoe made 66 and Zac Germon 53 as the team cruised to the win with 2.4 overs to spare.
It was a similar story in the Bonny Hills/Comboyne match. Bonnies batted out its overs, but made just 7-88 runs at Sancrox Reserve. Comboyne needed less than nine overs to pass the score.
Beechwood and Macquarie Hotel were the other winners.
