Many familiar faces stop on their way to work to greet Ruve Towells, a Big W employee who has helped customers and checked their bags for the past 20 years.
The 73-year-old said she loved “every single day” of her working life.
“I love the friendly staff and customers and meeting new people,” she said.
“They are all wonderful.”
The mother-of-one couldn’t recount one bad incident, customer or day on the job.
“Everyone is always very pleasant,” she said.
“I hope the customers all always return again.”
Store manager Helen Toombs said Ruve was an “icon to the store”.
“Ruve is just gorgeous,” she said.
“Everyone in town knows her – they even come in and ask her for advice.
“It’s so nice to have her in the store because she is just so beautiful and lovely.”
Ruve’s retail milestone was celebrated in-store on Tuesday with a morning tea.
