The club's new general manager will be Chris Hodgson, a man with 28 years' experience working in clubs and who is currently the general manager of Ace of Clubs, Wallsend RSL.
Mr Hodgson's appointment follows a meeting this week with the Port Macquarie Advisory Board and a representative of Penrith Panthers.
The chairman of the Port Macquarie RSL Advisory Board, Mr Bob Hanlon, announced the appointment late yesterday.
"Chris Hodgson's credentials are very impressive,'' Mr Hanlon said.
"He has the support of the board and will be an asset to the club.
"Greg Willcocks leaves us with best wishes for his future from the board and staff.
"I am impressed with the autonomy given to the board by the Panthers Group in allowing us to be the selection committee in finding Greg's replacement.''
In his time at Wallsend, Mr Hodgson has carried out just about every job in the club, including that of cleaner, barman and general duties.
"The opportunity to come to Port was too good to turn down,'' Mr Hodgson said.
"It's a good club in a growing area and the potential is enormous.''
Mr Hodgson will start work at the Port Macquarie RSL Panthers Club in six weeks.
However, he will spend a couple of weeks at Port in the interim getting to know staff and procedures before the departure of his predecessor.
Monday's Port News reported that Mr Willcocks had accepted the position of chief executive officer at the Sydney northern beaches club Harbord Diggers.
