The severe weather system is expected to impact the region from Friday afternoon.
Over night on Wednesday, heavy rainfall in the Macleay, Hastings and Manning areas led to 122 calls for assistance to the NSW SES from residents seeking help in dealing with leaking roofs and flash flooding.
“Volunteers have done a great job over the last 48 hours in responding to requests for assistance. We have sought additional flood rescue resources and storm and water damage teams from out of the area to be deployed into the region in preparation for the weekend,” NSW SES Mid North Coast Region Controller Tony Day explained.
“We are asking the community to also take the opportunity to make preparations for the expected heavy rainfall, flash and riverine flooding that is likely eventuate over the weekend.”

THURSDAY 2PM: Rainfall is easing on the Mid North Coast but another trough is developing bringing potentially significant falls to the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast.
NSW SES Mid North Coast warns the rainfall has the potential to cause minor to moderate flooding in the Macleay and Manning Valleys and moderate flooding for the Hastings.
This second trough is likely to develop from late Friday onwards.
The heavy rain in combination with the powerful swell of the past few days has caused erosion on many of our beaches. Sections of Town Beach, Port Macquarie are closed to public access.
In the Bellingen region the SES has called on residents to be better prepared for heavy rain events to ensure that volunteers are free to respond to emergencies.
Some Manning Valley residents will have to wait to have their rubbish collected with the regular service impacted by flood waters
THURSDAY 10AM: There have been cars under water and river levels are on the rise with the wet weather forecast to continue into the weekend.
