A spokesperson for SES Mid North Coast told the Argus all of the calls related to leaking roofs.
In the 24 hours to 9am on Thursday, 134mm of rain was recorded at Kempsey Airport. Initial fears that the weather system would dump more on the Macleay on Thursday were alleviated after it moved offshore.
The SES spokesperson said while the situation was clearing the catchment was sodden, so they were closely watching another significant system which could impact across the weekend. That second trough off the North Coast is expected to develop on Friday and is expected to bring signficiant rainfall to the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast.
This rainfall has the potential to cause flooding to develop in the following river valleys from late Friday onwards: Nambucca - minor to moderate flooding. Macleay - minor to moderate flooding. Hastings - moderate flooding.
