UPWARD of 100 cars and bikes will be on show at the Port Macquarie go-kart track on Saturday and everyone will have the memory of one little man in mind - Callum Cordell.
The car and motorcycle show will feature hot rods, street rods, classics, muscle cars, exotic, vintage street machines, cruisers, low riders and a range of motorcycles at the Burrawan Forest Drive track.
Organiser, Tracey Stewart, said the Port Macquarie Kart Racing Club offered to host the car and bike show to assist the Cordell family raise funds for Callum's Pyjama Army.
The pyjama army was established in honour of Callum Cordell who lost his battle with multiple auto immune disease at just eight years old. Since then his parents have been raising funds to donate pyjamas and toiletries to sick children.
"We've got cars and motorcycles coming from all over the central coast, from out west and out north. The Sons of Anzacs Harley club will be holding Harley rides for children, and there are going to be more than 30 stalls," Mr Stewart said.
Varied stalls of food, items and fashion will be available for families to browse on the day, as well as fire brigade rides.
Callum's father Justin said since starting the pyjama army last year more than 1000 pairs had been donated to Port Base Hospital and Westmead Children's Hospital.
"We're hoping to raise more money to donate pyjamas and toiletries to some of the bigger hospitals like Brisbane. We also really want to raise awareness of auto immune disease in children," he said.
Mr Cordell said Callum's regular checkups in Sydney often saw the family staying away from home for longer than expected and they would have to duck to the shops to buy extra clothing and necessities.
"In the last 12 months of Callum's life he was in palliative care so he was always in his pyjamas," Mr Cordell said.
Cars and motorcycles will pay a $10 entry fee, with market stalls paying a $50 fee and show goers a gold coin donation, all being put towards Callum's Pyjama Army.
"We hope to make this an annual event and we'd like to see some more stalls on the day. If anyone would like to put a stall in, or a car or motorcycle just contact us," he said.
With about 22 classes on the day each class will have a winner, along with a special Callum's Best in Show Trophy for one car and one bike.
"His parents will chose the car and bike they think Callum would have liked the most and award them a special trophy," Mr Stewart said.
Mr Stewart said the car and motorcycle show should be ready for public viewing by 9am until 5pm.
