Callum died peacefully on Thursday after a long battle with a rare brain disease.
His parents Justin Cordell and Jenny Emerson thanked the community for its support over the years.
"We are so glad we've shared our little boy with so many people that have fallen in love with him," Justin said.
"If we knew when he was born this would have been the outcome, we would have done exactly the same thing."
Jenny remembers Callum as a placid and happy boy.
"Even if he was having a procedure done in hospital, he would blow the doctors a kiss," she said.
Justin agreed his bubbly, cheeky and bright son was hardly ever upset.
People were attracted to Callum.
"It's like he had a rapport with people and people were drawn to him," Jenny said.
"He was here for a reason."
Callum was obsessed with The Wiggles and loved music played by his brother Bryce and sisters Amy and Grace.
He was much loved by his grandparents Noel and Jan Cordell.
Noel helped look after Callum since he was a baby and Callum was "poppy's little mate".
Justin and Jenny fondly remember Callum's smile and his big brown eyes.
The Hastings Valley Motorcycle Club's Retailers Challenge Trophy Day, which was to raise money so Callum could have a companion puppy, went ahead yesterday.
The proceeds will go towards a companion puppy for Callum's siblings.
Justin and Jenny thanked the doctors and nurses at Port Macquarie Base Hospital and The Children's Hospital at Westmead, and the team at Ronald McDonald House.
The couple acknowledged the support from Callum's teachers at Port Macquarie Public School.
Funeral details will be announced on the Facebook page, Angels for Callum.
