The Northside Progress Association is building a portfolio of information about the Coal Wharf in association with the centenary of John Oxley’s arrival in Port Macquarie to be celebrated shortly.
Association secretary Narelle Milligan said the Coal Wharf and the North Shore were popular spots to visit for residents in the Wauchope, Camden Haven and Port Macquarie over many years.
“We know that the Coal Wharf was regularly used as a fishing spot and for picnicking families back in the day and in more recent times,” Ms Milligan said.
“We would like to hear from anyone in the Port Macquarie-Hastings who has photographs or recollections of time they spent at the Coal Wharf.”
The association wants to compile any information it can on the historic site as part of the centenary of John Oxley’s arrival in the area.
