The group of 23 women from across the Hastings come together every month to share ideas and skills in the time honoured tradition of cake decorating.
Former president and treasurer of the club, Beth Schubert, said the club has a small but strong base which looks to inspire the next generation of sugar artists.
“The club, under a couple of different names, has been operating in Port Macquarie for over 33 years which is quite remarkable.
“We meet monthly and get a demonstration from one of our members on a different technique that we can go away and replicate.
“We also hold and partake in demonstrations with other chapters all over the Mid North Coast.
“We have some of our members come because they want to master a specific technique or skill but like myself, love to cook and bake and creating cakes is something we have done for many many years,” Mrs Schubert said.
As part of their contribution to the community members of the group also raised money over the Christmas period for Willing and Able by selling beautifully decorated cakes in the local area.
“Every Christmas we bake and decorate cakes to sell and to raise money for local groups and this year we donated the money raised to Willing and Able,” she said.
The group will also be holding another master class for non members to come and learn in the coming months.
