She will join Mayor Peta Pinson as they attend official Australia Day ceremonies and celebrations events across the region on January 26.
Ms Deep-Jones is well known to SBS TV audiences, having established her career as a sports presenter, and more recently as a senior producer on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander news and current affairs program ‘Living Black’, and as Chief of Staff for the NITV news program.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is presenting a range of activities and celebrations on Australia Day in Camden Haven, Port Macquarie and Wauchope.
The events will provide an opportunity for all Australians to come together to celebrate their country and culture, and reflect on what it means to live in the best country in the world.
In addition, on the evening of Thursday, January 25 council will recognise those locals who have gone above and beyond in serving the community, with the announcement of the 2018 Port Macquarie-Hastings Australian of the Year Awards.
This is a free event which is open to the public and we would like to invite all residents to join us in celebrating the achievements of award recipients.
