He is set to compete at the Iroman 70.3 in Western Sydney. Part of the Asia-Pacific Championship, triathletes from all over the globe will race at the at foothills of the Blue Mountains.
It is his second time competing in this particular event and said it is his main race at the back end of the year.
“It’s good to get down here earlier, and the training has been good. We haven’t had that really hot summer like we did last year,” he said.
“The course is a fast one, and the swim is in the regatta centre so you don’t really have to fight as you can follow the wires.
“The bike, conditions dependent, is arguably the fastest in Australia.”
With the heat expected to max out at 32 degrees or above on Sunday, he will be praying that isn’t the case.
“It’s supposed to be really hot this weekend, but I’ll be aiming for a trophy in my age group and make sure I execute my plan,” he said.
