Weekend softball sees Lakers and Warriors fight out a tough draw

IN weekend softball results, Port Macquarie’s Enduro side defeated the Port Phoenix, and the Lakers and Warriors battled it out in a high scoring draw.

The drawn game was played tightly from the start as it jumped out to two all. The Warriors took the lead, with Chie Mathews hitting her second home run with loaded bases. Jo Bonney also hit a home run taking their lead out to 12-5.

The Warriors changed their fielding side and the Lakers pounced to begin a comeback.

Closing the gap each innings, the Lakers turned the game around scoring 7 runs in one innings.

Sharon Smith was a stand out fill in for Lakers and helped them with a big home run. With the runs scored by Lakers the game ended up in a 13-all draw.

Following this game, the two Port Macquarie sides took to the diamond. Enduro pitcher Andrea Field took control of the game with six strike out’s as her side claimed bragging rights with a solid 1-0 victory.
