Junior cricketers from across the Hastings will take to the fields this Saturday morning in the first round of matches for the season.

Many will be hoping to be the next Steve Smith or Mitchell Starc, but all will look to enjoy themselves.

Port Macquarie, Camden Haven, Beechwood, Bonny Hills and Wauchope have all entered teams in age divisions ranging from under 10s all the way through to under-16s.

Most of the clubs still have positions available.

Representative trials for Hastings district under-12, 14 and 16 teams will also be held on October 15, weather permitting.

The venue is the Wood Street ovals, Port Macquarie with 10am the starting time.

The representative season commences on Sunday, October 22.
