There seems to be widespread panic about what might happen, including the fear that it will attract sharks? Will it contaminate the beaches?
There has been little concern expressed about why the whale died so tragically? Is that because it is our fault? Do we only care about ourselves?
Our plastic waste, fishing lines and ropes are choking the oceans and it is likely that many of these magnificent creatures will die during their migration. This is a problem, even in marine parks.
Mind you, while everyone gets distracted by the gay marriage vote, the government plans to reduce marine parks and let giant commercial trawlers into the Coral Sea!
