Saturday saw the end of the preliminary rounds for 2017, with the top four teams finally revealed in all age groups and divisions.
All clubs are represented in the finals, with Saints Netball Club looking the strongest with 18 teams, followed by Wauchope and Panthers with 13 and 12 teams, Camden Haven has seven teams and Port Combined six.
Games commence at 9am this Saturday with our youngest finalists – the 10A and 10B age group, with division one rounding out the days play at 2:30pm and a lot of quality netball in between.
Come down to the courts to cheer on your club mates, grab a coffee from the Coffee Shot and a cupcake from the Panthers cake stall.
Our littlest netballers – Net (new players) and Set (returning players) - played their final non-competitive games last weekend.
President Helen Miles was on hand to present the players with their participation certificates.
Helen was impressed with the level of improvement in all the girls, and is looking forward to seeing them all back on the court in 2018.
Helen was also on hand to present the HVNA Katie Clay Memorial Award for Sportsmanship in Netta to the 2017 winners – Port Combined Powerpuffs.
As the coach of this team of first time netballers, I am extremely proud of how they have grown and developed as players and as little humans.
Our canteen now has a name – “four quarters” won the popular vote after Louise Walker suggested it in our ‘name our canteen competition’ earlier in the year.
The Hastings Valley Netballers are very excited about the 40th anniversary dinner which is being held this Saturday at Rydges.
We are looking forward to a night of reconnecting with old friends, an evening of fun and laughter filled with wonderful memories.
See you courtside!
