Kathy posted a photo and video on Instagram of what she said is a baby Moray eel. 

“I thought it was a sea snake at first,” she said. 

Kathy said she noticed the eel as it was struggling above the tide line. 

She picked the eel up and put it back in the water. 

Kathy said the eel made its way back out to the ocean once a wave collected him from the shore. 

Port News has contacted the Australian Museum to confirm if the species was a baby Moray eel.
