The man can not be named as he was 16-years-old at the time of the incident which happened on September 21, 2014 at Horton Street, Port Macquarie.
Farmer was allegedly stabbed outside the Commonwealth Bank.
A sentence hearing took place in the Supreme Court, Port Macquarie on May 22.
The purpose of a sentence hearing is to receive oral and written submissions and take evidence from the crown and defence about what sentence the court should impose in a particular case.
The man’s sentence is set to be handed down on June 9.
