The duo donated their time to the effort, which raised around $9000.
All funds raised from the night will be held in trust as part of the overall fundraising effort for Tony who was seriously injured when he was struck by a motor vehicle on March 4 on Lake Cathie Road.
Surf Club president Rick Rolfe said the fundraising effort was an excellent night.
“We raised roughly $9000 and the organising committee is over the moon with that outcome,” he said.
“While the final count is still being determined, it is beyond our expectations.
“The organising committee had set a minimum entry of $20 but many people made contributions well above that.”
Another example of the generosity on the night was the donation of two separate, unusually shaped envelopes – one left at the bar and one placed in a donation tin.
“They both had $500 in them. Both were unsigned,” Mr Rolfe said.
With about 200 people attending on the night, Mr Rolfe specifically praised Karin Page and Tobias, who donated their time.
“The artists were very well received and they enjoyed themselves on the night,” he said.
“The organising committee would like to thank them for donating their time.
“Also, there were people working the raffles, manning the barbeque, working the raffle draw and prizes and working the bar too. Everyone donated their time, while the bar staff donated their wages back to the effort.”
The organising committee will next meet after Ironman where more fundraising plans will be discussed.
The next major fundraiser is the Tony Wright golf day on Sunday May 28, at Emerald Downs golf course.
