ENCORE is one of NSW Education Standards Authority’s (NESA) eight HSC showcases that celebrate excellence across Creative Arts and Technology subjects.
The Port Macquarie woman, who is now studying a bachelor of medicine and a bachelor of surgery at James Cook University in Townsville, performed a mandatory composition, composed in the style of Australian music over the past 25 years.
She said it was a brilliant experience.
“I was really happy with the performance overall, it was a great experience to play in such an amazing venue in front of so many people,” she said.
“The showcase is a great opportunity, and it was a great privilege to be able to represent SCAS.”

“The benefit for students is the fact you can pursue something you’re interested in at such a high level,” she said.
“Being from Port Macquarie it’s hard to perform at a professional level, so to be able to do that is really great.”
This year, 398 students from the 2016 HSC were selected for the showcases from 1680 high achieving students who were nominated from a total of 30511 Creative Arts and Technology students.
