The community is invited to a family fun day between 9am and midday to try out the wonderful new facilities and some of the sports on offer. There will be a free sausage sizzle, a jumping castle and a junior multi-sport clinic for the kids.
A variety of sporting groups will be available on the day for prospective teams.
"The newly expanded Port Macquarie indoor stadium is a wonderful community asset and this is a great opportunity to check it out, to try some different sports and to have some fun,” Mayor Peter Besseling said.
“The new stadium is part of a growing list of sporting and community infrastructure that shows a commitment to active and healthy local lifestyle, while also supporting an economic benefit for our region.”
Lucky door prizes, competitions and demonstrations will take place throughout the morning.
In addition to the free sausage sizzle, snacks, drinks, coffee, and a variety of food can be purchased from the new ‘Game Over’ cafe.
“Council is proud to deliver this great sporting facility on behalf of our community and I look forward to you joining me as we get active and have some fun on Saturday,” Cr Besseling said.
