Owner David Waite says that in the interests of their animals, staff and visitors, the heritage park will shut on Saturday and Sunday.

When the temperature is 45 celsius outside, it can get up to 75 celsius in the cab of the steam train.
“For the driver, that’s unacceptable.
“It’s just extreme, I guess. We hope everybody stays safe this hot weekend, and that the temperatures fall on Monday, as forecast, when we plan to open again,” he said.
Today (Friday) will be sunny in Wauchope, with temperatures reaching 35 celsius.
Tomorrow (Saturday) will also be sunny, with a high of 37 celsius, and Sunday will be hotter still with a high of 44 celsius predicted for Wauchope.
However, on Monday, some rain is forecast and the temperature is due to drop to 25 celsius.
