The club finished in the top five at the Mid North Coast branch carnival and president Glenn Scott was hopeful of a similar performance at the country championships at South West Rocks.
“The kids have been absolutely training the house down,” he said.
“We’ll have a strong team heading up there, with about 135 throughout the whole club.”
Scott said they had been training four days a week, including over Christmas to ensure they had the best possible preparation.
“We’ve had increased numbers at those sessions and they haven’t been compulsory.”
Scott said the club would also compete at Hat Head in the week before the championships at the final Mid North Coast carnival for the season.
